This is a new preview image for the project wich I've posted on my web site at [link] I've been able to do more as I've continued to build the assets for the story.

What we're seeing here is a view from what used to be the area of Central Park, but which has now reverted to farmland. I've been working on the city itself (actually, all of Manattan Island) for the past two weeks - maybe I'll post something about that in Scraps.

The Empire State Building model is based on a commercial model, then modified and textured by me. This is all 3DS Max and Photoshop, as usual.

That moon is spectacular. And the colors in the clouds are magnificent, too. The difference in the colors between the high and low clouds adds tremendous depth and richness to the piece. The rough terrain and the colors of the low clouds evoke evoke feelings of trouble and danger behind the optimism of the craft and the building. I love the headlights on the craft, too.

Great work!

Thanks! And yet I would have expected you to give me hell about the aerodynamics of the rocket, even though I have a pseudoexplanation for it :).

I have a big new pre-production image that's pretty far along; it'll probably get posted before the new year.

And weirdly enough, I just Googled you yesterday. I guess your ears were burning.
