Artist's Comments

Here's a pair of design drawings for the personal rocket ships we still haven't ever gotten*, hot off the drawing boards of the Retropolis Rocket Works.

They're official, right down to the " Approved for Construction" stamps, here signed by the renowned engineers Hugh Ferriss and Norman Saunders. These babies ought to rolling down the assembly line any day now.

*Honestly, I just want one for me; I've seen the way *you* drive.

Split the difference, we'll make it 1930's and I think that'l put us on teh same page :). Thanks!

Those "Approved for Construction" stamps are an awful lot like the ones we always saw on drawings back when I was a draftsman. It was a sort of a flashback to those days, when I used to draw drafting jokes - the sort of thing that would be awfully funny only if you, well, did that. And which made no sense at all to anyone else.

I'd rather fly the top one too. The bottom one's more a ladies' rocket; it was inspired by a rocket that Ardala flies in the Buck Rogers comics from the 30's. The top one's more a flat out roadster, complete with running boards, and I'd sure like to give it a test drive myself.

"nifty" is about right :). In fact, my actual license plate reads "BZ NEES", which is also about right. Thanks again! I'm almost starting to remember who some of the names belong to. This has all been sort of unexpected.
