The Lair of the Clockwork Book Kickstarter Trailerby *BWS

I can't post the video here - you need some sort of special dispensation for that - but I can give you a link to the video I just finished for The Lair of the Clockwork Book's Kickstarter project, which I hope will let me publish a limited, signed & numbered hardcover edition with foil-stamped linen covers and all of its 126 color illustrations on heavy, archival paper.

The video's over four minutes long, and it's chock full of nifty, retro futuristic art.

I'm trying to make a pledge, but Kickstarter routed me to Amazon, which is being snarky and uninformative. If I succeed in getting usefful information out of them I'll let you know.

I haven't done it from that end, but in theory you can just make a payment with your regular Amazon account. Make sure they don't charge a commission for the snark, of course.

That's really strange. I don't understand why you're getting such a different response.

Did you click through the links from Kickstarter, or did you somehow end up on the main Amazon site?

I have now gotten another e-mail, saying that my account has been closed, and that to do anything on Amazon, I will have to open a new one. But when I try to open a new account, their site says I already have one.

My reply from Amazon was a long form letter detailing all the possible horrible consequences of closing an account, and a link to a page where, if I still really, really wanted to close my account, I could send them another e-mail, with all my account information, and another explanation of what I wanted, written from scratch because, of course, they couldn't transfer that information from one part of their computer to another. So I await the next phase in their campaign to prevent me from giving them money.
